NORMAN ROBERT TURNER

Born 1946. Married 1973 to Ann with 3 Daughters -one deceased- and 5 granddaughters

Now living in Hugglescote having moved from Sussex to East Anglia and back to
Northamptonshire and finally settling in Leicestershire.

Educated in Chichester, Sussex, and confirmed there before Starting work with a Swiss
multinational company as a junior assistant rising to become the Commercial Manager with
special responsibility for the British Commonwealth area which involved considerable travel in
Canada , South Africa, India and the Far East developing local subsidiary operations and
negotiating supply contacts and licencing agreements.

| served as a Primary School Governor and Chair of Governors at the school attended by my
Children and was also elected to the Local Parish Council and subsequently to the Local
District Council where | served as a cabinet member.

During this period, | also served within my local Parishes as Chorister, PCC member, Church
Warden, Deanery Assessor in Norfolk and was appointed a Lay Minister of Communion by The
Bishop of Peterborough and The Bishop of Norwich .

My employment changed to working as European Director for a Wall Street, New York, based
trading company responsible for their activity in Europe arranging supply contracts with both
companies and Government purchasers for capital and consumable products often valued in
$millions. Finally changing employment, | became International Sales Director for a
Manufacturing company in Cleveland Ohio USA which involved travel in Soth America, Europe,
Middle and Far East and Australia negotiating supply contracts and appointing Distributors .

At present | am serving on the PCC at Christ Church Coalville as Finance Lead, which has
recently been placed into Vacancy and am a member of the Denary Synod

| believe my wide experience of meeting people from all over the world would bring strength to
the Synod in sharing understanding with the need for working together for mutual respect and
growth of our faith.

| believe that the support of local Parish activity is essential and that the benefits of our Parishes
and Parish Priests are a crucial part to our continued development in the propagation of the
Gospel.
