ABOUT ME
First and foremost I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I was
fortunate to grow up in a churchgoing household and
decided to follow Jesus for myself during my teenage
years. My faith impacts every part of my life and I continue
to grow as a disciple of Christ.
I am wife to Peter and mum to Silas who we welcomed in
January '26. Peter and I moved to Staffordshire last year
and it's been a privilege to start our family here. I
absolutely love it here, although the move to a town has
been a bit of a change for me as a country girl! I grew up in
Herefordshire countryside so you will often find me out for
my daily plod through nature.

When I have the time, I also enjoy
arts and crafts, particularly
watercolour or crochet.

When not on maternity leave, I work as a lay chaplain in
a secondary academy. In this role I get the honour of
representing Christ and the Christian faith to young
people and staff, supporting them pastorally and
praying for the school community. I discovered my love
for chaplaincy while studying my undergraduate degree
in Theology and Youth Ministry at Regents Theological
College (where I completed chaplaincy placements at
Birmingham Children’s Hospital and at a local secondary
school). So naturally I went on to complete my Master's
in Chaplaincy with Children and Young People at CYM.
During my time in this role, I have seen young poeple
ask questions about the Christian faith, have
opportunities to explore Christianity, read the Bible,
learn how to pray. I have supported staff and young
people through challenging situations and offered
appropriate hope by bringing Christ into the
conversation. I pray that God will continue to work within
the school and I’m honoured that I get to serve there.

I am excited to be standing for Synod, and it would be a
privilege to represent you in the future should I be elected.

Personal Life

Previous Experience
I have experience of working with children and young people within and outside
of the church (in hospital settings, wellbeing groups and mentoring, and
schools). It's fantastic that young people bring joy and fun and often ask
questions which will really make you think! I love seeing young people develop
a passion for Jesus and grow in their giftings and skillsets.
In 2021, I stared working for a youth work charity where I would go into hospitals
and support young people in crisis, offering follow-up support in the community
if needed, Throughout this role, I saw the links between spirituality and
wellbeing in action. I would prayerfully support young people and their families
and I saw God change lives through the ministry of listening well.
In 2024, I then moved to the role of youth pastor at the church I was attending
(prior to relocating to Staffordshire). Before this job change I had served on the
PCC and volunteered on the youth ministry team. While I worked for the church,
I saw how effective links between churches and schools can impact young
people, especially when churches are running effective and engaging youth
ministries. I noticed that Christian discipleship was easiest for the young people
who had support in their faith at home, church and at school.
I have also experienced the challenges of forming relationships with schools
which has certainly impacted my current chaplaincy work, Since starting my
current role in 2025, I have enjoyed working alongside local churches (especially
our local parish church) in ministering effectively to the school community. My
chaplaincy ministry would be far less effective without all that our local church
are doing to share the good news in our school and local town,
WHAT WOULD I BRING TO SYNOD?
I want to see Jesus made known across our nation. I want to see more people
hear good news of eternal life through Christ Jesus and to see the Church invest
in equipping and empowering Christians to create environments where children
and young people are growing in faith whether at home, church or at school.
I believe in developing a Church that invites all people into a place of
belonging, values all human beings as image bearers, and supports and
encourages living in a way that honours Christ Jesus. This includes doing
safeguarding well and being informed and trained on how to pastorally support
others through challenging situations.
I have a heart for young people. I hope to see God transform the lives of
children and young people as he has transformed my life. Furthermore, the
church has a role to play in developing healthy young hearts and minds who
know they are loved by God and are fearfully and wonderfully made. I'm keen to
see Jesus made known to the young people of our nation.
