It has been a privilege to represent the Diocese of London as a member of the
General Synod over the last five years, and I would count it a privilege to be elected
to serve again.
Throughout my ministry, I have remained passionate about seeing the Church of
England flourish as a confident, Christ-centred presence in every community. Through
my work as CEO of Revitalise Trust, which supports clergy and dioceses across the
country in the renewal of parish churches, and through my ministry in London churches
across different traditions, I have seen both the opportunities and challenges facing our
Church and am deeply committed to its future.
I am particularly passionate about raising up a new generation of leaders from every
background. I sit on the Board of St Paul's Theological College and have worked closely
with the Diocese of London to encourage greater diversity among ordination
candidates, including through the co-sponsorship of the Peter's Stream, which
supports those from underrepresented socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. I care
deeply about strengthening the pipeline of ordinands and leaders who will serve the
Church in the years ahead.
I also have a heart for young people and Generation Z. As a mother of three daughters, a
former Chair of Governors of a Church of England primary school, and through years of
ministry among families, students and young adults, I long to see more young people
come to know Jesus and find a genuine home within the Church. I believe the Church
has a vital role to play in the re-evangelisation of our nation and beyond. Alongside
proclaiming the gospel, we are called to serve our communities and seek the
transformation of society. I co-founded Love Your Neighbour, a charity which brings
together churches and organisations to tackle poverty, debt, addiction, unemployment,
homelessness and loneliness.
I believe our inherited church teaching provides the strongest basis for mission and
unity. As Chair of the Alliance, I am committed to working for arrangements that keep
the Church together, protecting conscience and enabling people on all sides to minister
with integrity before God.
Above all, I want to see a Church that is united in Christ, confident in its faith, rooted in
parish ministry, and equipped to reach the generations to come.
I hope I might count on your support as you prayerfully consider your vote.
With every blessing,
The Revd Sarah Jackson
