All Souls Langham place is my home Church. I felt very much at home the day I first
worshipped there and it has been my home church ever since I moved to London from
India. I love the word, community, fellowship, mission focus and music here. I love serving
here as All Souls is ‘All for Jesus’, a praying Church and the people who serve there do so
with so much joy and care. I have served at All Souls Serve the City and Christianity
Explored. I am a regular communicant and member there.
St. James Paddington is my parish church as I live in the neighbourhood and I enjoy the
evening services during the week, special services during Lent and the Holy Week,
concerts, and community events. Celebrating Pentecost Sunday with St. James is
something I enjoy and look forward to as our Lord’s prayer is said in many languages of
people represented in the Church family and there is a delicious Bring ’n’ Share lunch with
traditional food from our respective home countries. Who can a pass a biriyani and all the
yummy food I cannot even name?
St. Vedast Foster Lane is my foster church. I work in the City of London in InsurTech
(Insurance and Technology) and I enjoy worshipping at St. Vedast at the mid-day services. I
get the opportunity to read scripture during the service and it feeds my soul. The readings
on the life of saints and martyrs during the service stirs us to action in life and in faith. We
are all just regular people, like all the saints who walked before us, in need of Christ’s
salvation and called to do what others believe is impossible because we serve a God with
whom nothing is impossible.
Ringing church bells brings me so much joy and I have the privilege of ringing the bells at
St. Vedast before the Sunday service and I have had the opportunity to ring at St. James
Garlichyth and St. Giles Cripplegate in the City and a couple of other churches in London.
Bell ringing is one of the underrated serving areas at church and I would support and
promote it where I can.
Like all the revivalists and God’s faithful remnant in this lovely nation, I say, here I am
LORD, use me. I will speak for the voiceless, stand with the persecuted for Christ, pray for
peace in Jerusalem, stand by the word of God, see God’s hand in redeeming sexuality, and
do my little part to see the demonstration of His Holy Spirit in transforming society.
If I were to be elected as a member of General Synod, I pledge to be true to the faith
as the Church of England has received it and as it is revealed in Sacred Scripture. At
a time of great change in the life of our nation, I believe it is more important than ever
to have God’s Word at the heart of our lives and faith in Jesus Christ as the
foundation of our nation’s spiritual and moral renewal.
Being steadfast in prayer and willing to listen to God and obey His will for me is what I
practice as much as my human brokenness allows. Though single at 51, I desire seeing
families built for the glory of God, just as our LORD has commanded. For now, the church
family here in London is my family and community. I have the privilege of being Godmother
to 2 lovely children whose family have graciously accepted me in this role. I am expecting
one more soon and I hope to have a few more in the future. Where and when I am called to
serve our LORD and His people, I will serve to the best of my ability. God bless.
