Jennifer Tsui
London
House of Laity
My name is Jen, and I have been attending Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) for around three
years. I am standing as a candidate in the General Synod election because I would love
the opportunity to serve the mission and future of the Church of England, bringing a
fresh, cross-cultural, and constructive voice.
I was born and raised in Hong Kong, moved to Leeds for university, worked in Sheffield
for several years, and moved to London a few years ago.
Over the past year, I have served as a lay representative on Chelsea Deanery Synod
(CDC) and as an ex-officio member of the HTB Advisory Church Council (ACC). Within
HTB, I serve as a volunteer on the 5pm Service staff team and lead the Young Adults
group. I also serve in the Prayer Department and in the Worship Team as a keys player.
I work as a doctor in the NHS and have held leadership roles since university,
representing students and trainees. I am particularly passionate about medical
mission. I currently serve as Secretary on the UK board of an international Christian
non-profit organisation (Life in Abundance International). I also serve on the London
Catalyst Team of Christian Medical Fellowship, an interdenominational organisation
that connects and equips Christian medical professionals.
If elected, I hope to bring:
- A cross-cultural perspective: shaped by growing up in HK and living in different parts
of the UK
- A voice for younger generations: listening to their perspectives and helping the
Church engage with their hopes and challenges
- Professional insight: bringing my experience as a doctor and in leadership to social,
legislative and policy discussions
- Good governance and stewardship: using my leadership and management
experience in non-profit organisations, to help the Church steward its resources and
finances effectively
