I am a long-standing member of Holy Trinity Platt,
Rusholme and am serving on a large PCC with a focus on
strategy, operations and our Hardship Fund. I stepped
down as senior church warden in May after a busy and
enjoyable 6 years in post. Those years were preceded by
4 years as Deputy Warden.

Governance is a key issue for our national church. I
understand the vital nature of governance, transparency
and accountability in institutions and commercial
organisations. My experience is as follows:
• key member of an Accountability Group for a Life
Peer in the House of Lords, currently involving the
establishing an educational charity around political
theology on which I will be a Trustee/Director.
• Lay
Representative
on
Deanery
Synod
for
Manchester South and Stretford. Our Deanery is
blessed with a wide range of traditions and hard-
working lay sisters and brothers in Christ.
• Treasurer of the Manchester Diocesan Evangelical
Fellowship https://mdef.info/
• as a founding member of the church Hardship
Fund, we operate a transparent policy and review
applications through various levels of church
leadership depending on the funds required. We
are supporting a wide range of people from asylum
seekers to the recently bereaved
• operational, sales and ownership interests in SMEs
understanding the roles of significant shareholding
and directorships.

I am half Chinese, being born in South East Asia and
remaining in close contact with the region. As such I hold
a particular commitment to Racial Justice, knowing that
we are all made equal in the image of God. I would
encourage Synod to work hard to face the growing
threat of Christian Nationalism.
I am a keen supporter of the Save the
Parish campaign and their Six
Commitments around Parish, Priest and
People

work particularly to support local representation teamed
with theologically robust training and pastoral support
for priests and their families.
With regard to the ongoing discussions around human
sexuality and relationships I support the current church
position on marriage and relationships. I enjoy close
friendships with people across the various sides of the
debate recognizing and deeply lament the confusion and
unnecessary damage that have accompanied this process.
BACKGROUND
My paid employment over the decades has been entirely
in private business and commercial environments. I have
worked in large international companies and in SMEs,
experiencing the daily responsibilities for jobs and
success.
All of my higher education and adult life have been
focused on Manchester. My school years in the North East
of England included worshipping in an independent
Christian Fellowship and later in Anglican churches both
in my local village and town.
