About Graham
I’ve lived most of my life in Norfolk, and my family has been based here since
2001.I was ordained in the Diocese of Norwich in 2017, and I’m shaped by a
deep affection for this county—its people, its communities, and its churches.
I serve as Team Vicar of St Luke’s with St Augustine’s, New Catton, Norwich,
and have done so for five years.
Alongside city ministry, I have experience of rural and semi-rural church life—
formed through worship in rural villages and in Swaffham before training for
ordination.Before ordination, I worked mainly in retail and in ministry with
children and young people. I also spent a year on the Root Group scheme at
St Albans Cathedral.
My first degree was in Performing Arts, and that creative instinct still shapes
how I preach, teach, and encourage the Church to communicate hope with
clarity and imagination.
What I’ll bring to Synod
Breadth - Rooted in both Anglo-Catholic and Evangelical traditions, with a
commitment to the Church of England as a broad, generous, and beautiful
church.
Hope - Honest about the challenges the church faces, steady about people
and mission, and determined to encourage what is good and life-giving.
Advocacy - I have spoken out on issues such as pensions, pay, wellbeing and
fair treatment.
Representation - As a younger person and a member of the LGBT+

community, I will keep under-represented voices present, heard, and taken
seriously.
Where I stand
PLF, mission and ministry — I support a Church for everyone, regardless
of gender, disability, ethnicity, socio-economic status, mental health, or
sexuality, and full God given dignity of LGBTQ+ people.
I support women’s ministry in all forms, from Lay Ministry to the
Episcopate
The parish system — The parish is the factory floor of mission. Parish
churches must be properly resourced, with the small valued as well as the
large.
Mission and evangelism — We must speak confidently about Jesus.
Climate change — I support the Church’s commitment to net zero by
2030, and I believe the Church must lead by example in caring for God’s
creation.
Clergy wellbeing and safeguarding — A healthy Church treats people
fairly and compassionately. I support safeguarding reform and the Clergy
Conduct Measure, while also calling for better support for those accused
of misconduct.
Racial justice and discrimination — I am committed to anti-racism. The
Church should be at the forefront: speaking with and for those who are
marginalised, and ensuring our common life reflects the dignity of every
person made in God’s image.
