My hope is for a
Church with room
for all, where people
know they belong,
where every voice is
heard with respect,
where disagreement
can be held within
relationships of love
and trust, where
where Jesus is
proclaimed with
compassion and
confidence.
Why am I standing for election to General Synod?
At its best, the Church is a place where people encounter God’s love
and discover that they belong. Yet I know that, at times, division and
tribalism can consume our energy and distract us from God’s mission.
My experience has strengthened my conviction that difference is not
something to be feared but something to be valued. I want to help
build a Church where every voice is heard, every person is treated with
dignity and respect, and where we can disagree well while remaining
sisters and brothers in Christ.
As Archdeacon of Bromley & Bexley, I have the privilege of walking
alongside clergy, lay leaders, congregations and communities across a
wide variety of traditions and contexts. I see God at work, in different
ways, in each of our churches. I am inspired by the faithfulness,
generosity and dedication of those who serve God day by day, often
quietly and without recognition.

church cultures. As Bishops lead
for Safeguarding, I am working
to embed healthy cultures
across diocesan life. While
much can be done locally, I will
campaign for processes that
better support parishes facing
bullying, poor conduct, &
unhealthy power dynamics.
I will work for a Church where
everyone is valued, welcomed, &
able to participate in God's
mission. I am committed to
inclusion, recognising each
person is made in God’s image &
should be treated with dignity &
respect. Our differences are a
gift & I am committed to
building a Church where every
voice is heard & unity in Christ is
stronger than division.

What would I bring to Synod?
What are my hopes for the Church of England?
The Church of England has shaped my faith & ministry; it is a privilege to serve God's people.
If elected, I will seek to listen carefully, serve faithfully, & work for a Church where people
know they belong, where difference is valued, & where every parish, minister & congregation
is enabled to flourish. My hope for the Church of England is simple: that we may be united in
Christ, generous in our differences, faithful in our discipleship, & joyful in our mission, sharing
the life-transforming good news of Jesus Christ & serving our communities with love.

I would bring experience of parish ministry,
diocesan leadership, and working with people from
a wide range of traditions & perspectives. The
ability to connect with & represent many different
local churches would be invaluable. I have helped
shape our diocesan vision, rooted in Jesus' call to
seek first the Kingdom of God, while embedding
safe and healthy cultures & promoting
safeguarding. That experience has reinforced my
belief that the Church's future depends on healthy
relationships, confident discipleship, faithful local
ministry, & a shared commitment to God's mission. I
understand the opportunities & challenges facing
local churches & am committed to ensuring
national decisions are grounded in parish realities.
