The Reverend Elizabeth Hull
Sodor and Man
House of Clergy
Many of you will already know me – I am Rev Liz Hull and have
trained in our Diocese and worked here as a Curate and now as
Vicar of St Thomas’ Church and Chaplain to St John Ambulance
on the Isle of Man. I am seeking to represent the Diocese at
General Synod as your clergy representative. I hope to represent
the views that I feel that many within the Diocese hold of
inclusivity within our church.
Together for the Church of
England: We hope to see full
inclusion and equality in the
Church of England. We
recognise that we all
understand the unconditional
love of God for all people in
different ways but seek to grow
a church which gathers all who
profess faith in God, Father, Son
and Holy Spirit.
Elections to General Synod
Sept/ Oct 2026
A little bit more about me: I’m
married to Steve who is a licensed
Reader in the Diocese, and we have
three adult daughters and one
grandson. I have an active interest
and involvement in environmental
issues and Amesty International
regularly joining vigils for Palestine in
the last two years. I am a member of
the Isle of Man Choral Society and
Steve and I are allotment holders. We
also try to live out our beliefs in our
day-to-day life taking time about how
we care for our world.
Since I’ve been vicar of St Thomas’
church the church has achieved a
Bronze Eco award (2025). The
church has hosted the Earth artwork
Gaia by Luke Jerram (2024) and a
group in the church created a flower
tower which attracted a lot of
attention (2023). We are in the
process of improving disability access
for the church and have been
successful in securing grants in the
church’s journey towards Net Zero.
I have lived on the island since
1989 originally coming over
here to work as an
Occupational Therapist in
Mental Health. Steve is from
the Isle of Man and our
daughters and grandson were
born here. We also have two
dogs and two cats and
numerous fish who make up
our household. ☺ Steve and I
were former chair and
secretary of Greenpeace IOM
before parenthood made life
too busy but have been happy
to re-engage with
environmental groups and
Amnesty International.
I look forward to receiving
your vote. If you want to find
